It's a taco place. They don't serve egg rolls.
Yummy tacos.
Good tacos. The shells are a mix between hard and soft. The spicy sauce is good too.
Nice quaint little restaurant! Staff is pleasant to order from. You can pay with Yen, US dollars and Visa. The tacos were pretty good! Loved their shells! The French fries were fresh n salty. Would dine here again!
Came for Sunday lunch. Crowded. Food so good!!You order at a counter first and you take a seat.Waitress serves you the meal.
I last had tacos at Charlie's Tacos in 1980. I will always remember them as the best tacos I have ever had. Still craving them!
I ordered the beef, chicken and fish tacos. The shell was different and great! The fish tacos was a tuna salad in a taco. Very popular place and worth trying once.
Interesting take on a taco, I found the taco shell to be very unique but the ground beef filling a little dry.
This is a great place to try Okinawa Tacos with an interesting history. Many locals eat here. I had one beef, one chicken and one tuna taco. All very good.
Good tacos.. big plus for cheap price.. but tacos lack authentic Mexican sauces and just don't make you wanna eat 10 like you would in proper taquerias.. I would say it's a nice quick bite if you're on kokusai-dori (kokusai street).
The most famous Tacos place in Okinawa, delicious ! 🌮😋
Usually packed with locals. Was impressed. Note: you have to pay/find parking.
They were skimpy on the lettuce tonight.
Really good food! Obviously not for those on a diet as they fry their shells, but their food tastes really good! I would definitely recommend this place to come and eat.
I am happy because it is a popular shop but it is quick from the time it comes out of the order. It is a statement of stability even when visiting. How to fried taco shells is exquisite, so it won't lose oil and it feels so light!
I haven't had tacos for a long time since I don't eat meat until I found out this place has tuna tacos. So this taco place is all I know. Tuna is seasoned with mayonnaise, salt and pepper. I wanted a bit spice to it though I enjoyed the plate.
Who would expect tacos in Okinawa, but this is a must-visit for anyone passing through the island!
Why 5 stars...because it was home away from home. Best tacos I have had overseas while stationed at White Beach in 1979-1981. I know...I'm a Mexican who loves his tacos. The Okinawans were always kind to me and made me feel welcome. Enjoyed going to the Botanical gardens on those 98 percent humidity weekends! I miss the island of Okinawa.
I lived here for 3 years back in the late 80's, we would come here almost weekly for the awesome tacos! If I ever visit Okinawa again, I'm definitely making Charlie's Taco's 1 of my stops!
Basic tacos in a fried shell. Covered parking in the library across the street.
It's a small menu but SO very good! Love the crunchy tacos!!
Original vintage feel to this taco restaurant makes this an interesting place to visit. Food is pretty good for fast food too, and cheap. Staff friendly as well.
Food was pretty good id say but only downfall is the salsa not hot enough
We liked it here, very local feel. Food was good.
It is a long-established store in 1956 (Showa 31), 64 years before I was born. I was born in Mexico and raised in Okinawa. It's no exaggeration to say that Charlie's Taco Taco Rice is the best in Okinawa and the best in Japan! !Taco (tuna, chicken, beef) 1p290 yenI like beefWhen ordering, drink set is advantageous.Taco rice is also exquisite with the crunchy feeling of lettuce and chili saw slice.Taco Taco Rice! Both are Iker! ! It ’s really delicious.Reasonable and the best ~ 😄March 14 (Sat), Reiwa 2
It is a long-established tacos shop. Beef tacos are hot and hard to drink salmon! ! You can taste it deliciously in the family, but there is also a taco with chicken and tuna in it and you can taste it deliciously. There is also a standard taco rice and a menu with a set of taco rice and tacos. Other than tacos, there are pasta etc using tacos meat. I think there is a branch, so I think that you can compare taste, I think ✨ If you look closely there are the awards and trophies that were in the corner of the twinkle next to the register. You can get a free ticket for an hour if you tell that you came by car if you use a store in a common parking lot.
Japanese-style tacos and taco rice. Easy. Simple. Delicious.
Great tacos!
Very cost-effective very tasty are the best taco rice combos on the island
If you want to stop by for a quick bite to eat and want some good hard shell tacos this is your place. I can probably compare it to Taco Bell but with a Japanese twist.
neighborhood taco place - the menu is concentrated but awesome!
The best in Okinawa since 1956
Quite a bit of hyperbole in the reviews, this is basically taco fast food. It's been around for 40 years though and I imagine stirs memories for long returning GIs and their families.
This shop is located in the shopping street on Shutter Street. It looks old-fashioned American-like. Inside the store, you order at the cash register and carry it to the table. Signs and photos of various people are stuck on the wall. The taste of the tacos is exquisite, and the salsa sauce is delicious again. The best taco I've ever eaten. It was a store I would like to visit again.
Ive been to Mexico, Texas, and california and these are the best tacos ive ever had. I dream of the day i can come back to okinawa and have charlie's tacos again .
Love the tacos here!
Good food, the taco shell is what made it really good.
We had to make at least one visit to the famous Charlie’s Tacos while living in Okinawa. The shells were unique for what we’re used to for tacos since they ate fried but we liked them. Beef was good and the cheese seemed like a section of American cheese laid on top. Not your typical shredded Mexican cheese. Parking is tough but there are pay lots around the corner that are fairly easy to use.
Delicious food, and very friendly staff. Love this place.
Great hole in the wall place. Smaller variety in the menu. It is not your traditional Mexican/taco place but it definitely gets the job done with very tasty and unique tacos. We had beef and chicken tacos as well as the taco rice. The taco rice was very filling. Affordable too. We had 2 tacos, fries and a drink were under 1000 yen.
It is a famous shop of Okinawa tacos and there is a shop on Kokusai Dori, but the main shop was vacant and it was comfortable. However, since it is a shop with no parking lot, if you come by car you will be parked in a nearby parking lotI wanted to eat a set of taco and taco rice, but I was sorry that the taco was sold out and I could only eat taco rice. Taco rice has a good spice aroma and became even tastier when eaten with the spicy sauce on the table.
Great place to eat...
Good little taco shop, not very spicy. But over all it was worth the stop.
Wow. I’d heard of this place in the guidebooks but forgot all about it until we were wandering around Okinawa City. You should definitely try this place. I was worried the fried tortillas would be oily but they were perfect. Would recommend the chicken and pork tacos.
Tacos we're delicious. Recommend the spicy sauce. It was not too hot. Parking is behind the buildings. Can either pay a machine up front or turn over keys to window attendant and bring back a parking validation afterwards to park for free.
Great tacos!
I tried tacos and types of them, beef chicken and tuna , are available here. Liked it.
The taco rice was unimpressive- although I hear good things about the taco shell which I didn't have. Don't park out front like many others do or you may be ticketed. (not well marked). Other than fun decor, there's not much here.
